I come here every day to see all of your work.. Not just X but all of you. It's true eye candy!! The two that are causing issues deal with nuke.. What will they do if you go to a dif CMS? change their site just to follow you? If they do then what? Don’t run FIGHT!!! Let’s all FIGHT!

I've had a ton happen to me in my life from being stabbed to being shot at and been in many fights.. It was part of my job. But once I became a father I never looked back. I regret it sometimes leaving that line of work but it was best for my family. You have a distant family here. I have never met you but I feel like a part of something here.

Because X I was able to grow my clan for last 6 yrs. I have always used his themes in the years since MOHAA.. Medal of Honor then to COD CODUO then BF2 and 2142. Every time we changed games I came here to get a theme.

Xtrato & Mrs X, I do appreciate everything you have done for us. If you move to another CMS so be it. I will follow.

Trash php-nuke. It's old and outdated by now. I think it's right, as mrsx says, to start with a new cms. Maybe vB, Seditio, Invision or some of the new script's out there. There's alot to choose from, i can tell.

Regarding security, it usually causes more problems than it helps. Somone will still find a way to "crack" it anyway. Just give it up...

The big web design sites out there figured this out, and most of them don't do much about security. They just put a copyright on it and a link to their site. The things will be on warez sites, of course, but it will still work as advertisment. And for those who want to get a "real copy" of it, will come here and buy it.

Take extremepixels.com as an example. Their stuff is allover every warez site out there, but still, he sells alot, because the site is well known. And i think, thats alot because of the warez sites.

These are my thoughts, and i know alot people don't think the same.

From my experience, there will always be someone who crack it, no matter how much security you got.

I dont think you should give up X! Not after all you've put in here... look at it like a car company, sure, other companies steal their ideas to improve their own product, and that is basically what is happining here.

It's not easy to see something you work so hard on be ripped apart and sold for little or given away, but lets face it, no matter what we do, SOMEONE will still be there to rip and steal ideas. I'm sure it cant be easy for them with incripted documents but they find a way to do it anyway, and they will find a way with any other CMS as well.

With your knowledge of nuke I am sure we can come up with ways to at least make it harder for people to rip them? Or fight for tougher laws, after all, it is copywrighted work, surly there has to be something someone can do to punish the people who take it on them selves to steal.

Well, I am only a noob to this community. I am not a regular visitor as I am quite busy, however I pop on when I can.

I started comming here probably 6 months ago. I always loved the themes Xtrato has put out. They were completely in a different league than anyone else. I decided I wanted to try to design better. So about two months ago I decided to register and read posts. Although I don't post that often, I try to read all I can. The community here is great. I have learned so much from watching, reading, and trying. I still have a long way to go, but without Xtrato.com I wouldn't be able to create half of what I can today.

Don't give up. Although I unfortunately have little to offer, I would do whatever I could to help out. If you choose to continue, I will deffinately make a bigger attempt to be more active.

Also, if deticated servers are an issue. I have a buddy that does game and web hosting. If interested, I could give you his info to see what he could work out for you.

Thanks a lot guys !, well it seems obviously that the community still has a lot to offer.

we still have a lot of projects on hold and what not, public's, etc etc.

But also, what would you guys like to see in the community, as in , more additions, events, etc etc.

I know many of you have good ideas, and would like to see here at Xtrato Designs. We are always looking for new ways to improve the community ,im sure we can all come up with some good stuff.

And yes many stated about our Support, client base etc, It is true we did not meet our support as we did with our themes, but we are constantly on a continuous grow with our support base, we are learning every day with client experiences, but we are getting there .

As far as security for our clients, yes it was a pain for them as well as it was for them, but with doing so, we saved many months and maybe years of WORRY - FREE.

I do thank all of you for the input you have placed here on this topic. I would like to continue on , and discuss more and more, with new ideas and such.

As i stated on the starting post, I need some good reliable staff who can manage and keep the site going smooth, Sassa and the others have busy stuff going on as well, so we need new ones , that can aid them and help them in what is necessary to keep the site entertaining and on a continuous growth.

I will continue to look forward with more replies with , opinions suggestions and what not.

Some sugestions I can think of at the moment:

-Make the SOTW actaully a weekly thing... ive noticed that its not realy going on every week...


-I like the points idea and how you spend them... lets add to that... make more things to buy, like special post colors, and so on...

-add some more forum catigories... like General support, movies, games, etc... give the people more to talk about.

-instead of the designers making signatures for anyone, have them cost a certian amount of forum points, encouraging people to post in other topics and not just come when they want a sig.

-Make the free themes also cost points... again making people be a part of the community instead of just comeing to download the new themes....

What killcraze said. Lets make a sig creation thing like many of the other sites out there. Thats always a huge hit to get people to come to the site.

As for the forums I think for the most part everything is inline. Once again as he said above some more general topic catigories.

And I should have just quoted him damnit but yes SOTW. I remember it happening everyweek but then there were times where it refluxed and didnt go on for about another month.

I would also like maybe create a tutorial section. We can have tutorials written up for PS, Flash, Dreamweaver and C4D.

Also lets keep up what were doin now. From what it looks like we can become a stable community on what we are doing now so lets keep that attitude and just add to it!

I really was like "what the fuck" he cant do that. I joined you community in late 2004 and was always around for about a year and so …
in 2006 Cox really did a great job for your site ( dont know whats up with him but his profile says he didnt post anything since last december) and i think that is one of the reasons for what happened to your site.

Another aspect is the fact that i havent seen many new themes from you. dont know but in 2004 there was like 1 theme every 2 months or so. I still know from 2005 that you were very busy and did very few posts on the forum. In that Situation Mrs X was very very helpful by being there as someone who ask stuff etc. Imho that was the only reason what kept the v3.
I dont know but somehow the community lost much of its spirit during the transition between v2 and v3. And then those hackers bringing the site down etc. and those guys faking your personality on other boards and selling your stuff …
And there is the arcade … well i havent been around for a year or so and im still on nr1 of some games which really shows that there isnt much activity here.

I think what you really need is, as you said in your email, is a strong staff, some community managers etc, somebody like cox or canes.
You dont need a arcade, you dont need a webchat or such stuff.
Since you dont seem to have the time to pop up with a new theme every few months you need to provide something else, tuts, sigs, etc.

And if somebody is messing with you, make the community help you. Your not a single person who is offended, its the whole community.


I think that your one of the most skilled designers so just keep it up
