Regarding security, it usually causes more problems than it helps. Somone will still
find a way to "crack" it anyway. Just give it up...
The big web design sites out there figured this out, and most of them don't do much
about security. They just put a copyright on it and a link to their site. The things will
be on warez sites, of course, but it will still work as advertisement. And for those who
want to get a "real copy" of it, will come here and buy it.
Take extremepixels.com as an example. Their stuff is allover every warez site out
there, but still, he sells alot, because the site is well known. And i think, thats alot
because of the warez sites.
These are my thoughts, and i know alot people don't think the same.
From my experience, there will always be someone who crack it, no matter how
much security you got.

Its not that Xtrato will stop designing...but i think he is going to start trying new
cms's, since all those losers tend to hide under the GPL.
We have combined forces with another community and hope that we can both help
each other
Thanks everyone for the support!
you all are great

Most of you don't really know me, but as I told Xtrato a few minutes ago, why wait to
April to open the doors (We will have an official opening in April), lets get these
people involved in the new site. I quoted Mrs. X and Alx because, Mrs. X already
knows and now the rest of you will that NOT only is Xtrato not closing but expanding
his development plans to include a relatively new CMS and Forum system. As Alx
states ppl are gonna rip regardless what we have to do is make more of a hassle to
rip themes and reduce their profit margin. What we've done and are working on doing
is creating themes for TinyPortal and SMF and expanding an already existing
network and setting up the standard for TP themes. These Themes, the ones your so
use to here at Xtrato Designs plus new ones he's about release will be Designed for
Tiny Portal and SMF at substantially lower costs to promote both more
use/purchase of these themes and well as the development of TinyPortal.
As Xtrato and I discussed, does it make more sense to sell a theme for $200 to 5
people or 25 themes at between $50-$100 dollars. More people means more
exposure for both theme and cms, and better chances of positive reinforcement.
Basically the current shop will still be here offering what is already in it but you will
begin to see more themes developed specifically for TinyPortal where Nuke
conversions or customization will be as a per customer issue and considered a
custom design thing. But also there will be an additional shop tied directly to the new
site as part of the cms that will offer full demo of both free and commercial themes.
We are currently still laying out the site and customizing things but I talked him into
letting everyone in now to be able to share your ideas and learn about the new
system. Staff will be able to add both free and commercial themes to the shop but
the commercial themes will have to be okay'd at the admin level (This is mainly to
keep the commercial standards high). Other designers are welcome to offer free
themes and if the staff considers the work exceptable added to the download section.
Staff with commercial themes in the tp shop will get full credit and payment for each
theme sold less a small commission for support of site server(I'm still setting up the
code for this plus a pm to author on each sale). We are excepting staff applications
at this time for the following:
Coders and Designers for the following: PHP-Nuke, Zentri-Enhanced , PHPBB,
VBulletin, & Seditio CMS coders if possible. Please present a portfolio if possible as
well as Staff Experience References if possible. Thankyou in Advance for your
support. Age minimum 16 years of age, maturity required ;).
