Any particular reason you have chosen so far to avoid the more established mainstream forum/CMS software like Invision and Joomla etc over things like the beta software Tinyportal ?
Not only are you limiting yourself to a much smaller market but not everyone is interested in using beta software or being beta testers.
Is it because there is too much competition already in those larger markets ?
The bottom line in any business should be looking at where the most potential customers are, well that's how I look at things.
Just curious

Also if you don't mind me asking why don't you have a link from your splash page to the site?

The splash and the site are still being laidout at the moment, we wanted to go ahead and invite everyone in early for feedback and suggestions before the official opening. As far as why Tiny Portal, its a totally fresh market and believe it or not is not limited as you may think. Its nearly out of beta and is unique in its potential applications. To understand more you should take the time to read up on it. Spen a few days at TinyPortal to get a feel for the enthusiasm associated with where were headed.

I think i sit with h3llbound on this one...
Why step away from the more popular CMS to something new that may never catch on? TO me it still seams like giving up... I think you should stick with nuke, I'm sure there has to be a way to stop people from ripping...
"I honestly think it is better to be a failure at something you love than to be a success at something you hate."
George Burns
I'm not saying that TinyPortal is a bad thing, im simply pointing out, that from waht I read, and correct me if I am wrong, that it is less popular and still in beta. If rippers can rip Nuke, the can rip tiny portal too.
I say stand up for what has so far given you sucess, and dont let one failure stop you from pushing forword.
I love working with nuke, and if tinyportal is gonna step up, its gonna need more development first. Nuke simply has a larger fan base, more developers, and therefor more options and flexability.
Please, dont give up on nuke, I dont think it will help!

you miss the point totally. Nuke is not being discontinued, it still gonna be supported but themes are gonna be done as conversions on a customer basis. The themes regardless of which CMS is gonna be set at a lower price to help combat the rippers lowballing the same things in a ripped format. We intend to offer more specialization and customization in the themes as well as develop cross system ideas and flexiblity as we go. We are EXPANDING not replacing and we hope you understand that and feel comfortable helping us do just that as we want your help to add to the site.
I added the link to the splash page sorry about that.
and here's directly to forum http://tinyportals.com/main/
Its our hopes to give better support, wider range of products, and yet keep the high quality of Xtrato's Designs..

I also don’t understand why Tiny Portal at all. There are in my view a lot more CMS’s out there that are better and have a bigger fan base. First Tiny Portal is an add on to SMF a free forum just like phpbb and I believe that phpbb is defiantly the best free forum out and with Tiny Portal not being very popular compared to other CMS’s like Joomla, E107, Wordpress, etc. why not choose them and going with the smaller CMS’s why Tiny Portal over Zentri? I am personally not a big fan of Tiny Portal I prefer phpbb over SMF and I dislike the setup of the admin panel. Also if you want to expand and give a wider range of products couldn’t you do this faster on a more popular CMS? Also will that site be the new home of the Xtrato community or will this site or one like this running VB stay around?

First of all im not sure what Xtrato plans for this site although i could probably convert the whole database. 2nd although SMF is free it is NOT OPEN SOURCE it does not fall under the gpl stuff that yall have been running into. And why tp over the others? the fan base is much larger than you give it credit for, i understand your personal objection to smf but you critize a product you havnt given a chance. The Forum base unlike vb and bb is not redistrubited under a bunch of different developers running in a different direction so that your not sure which version of the forum your actually dealing with. Smf doesnt allow that to keep updates and developments in one location so that everyone that gets it gets the same package. TinyPortal is techniquelly a mod but to be totally honest ive tried several cms's and the dont offer near the flexibility that tp offers. Nor the roadmap for the future of tp.
Why a beta project? because quite frankly its in the doors of the developer of tp itself as well as one of the major developers of SMF. It keeps our themes right on the cutting edge of its growth, it allows us to potential control the direction of the modules and aspects being developed. We arent disregarding the other systems in fact we hope to support them as well in a 'themeing sense' . But believe it or not there is a huge untapped market for tp and smf that your overlooking all together, we will be the first established professional quality theming site for Tiny Portal and SMF and in the future plan to be the hub for all major CMS and forum theming. We are wanting to develop a very enthusastic staff and member base to keep ppl excited about whats going on.
Also on another note this keeps us falling into the rut of so many other mainstream theme sites and doing things a certain way just because thats the way its always been done. we are the new, we are the fresh, and we are gonna be the top site out there period.
In all honesty if you wish to keep the post count and other stuff here if Xtrato wishes to export it to tinyportals it can be done with minimal loss of data. You mentioned a tutorial Raccoon i believe somewhere, and we want that developed for ALL gfx cms and what have you. What we need is input on how to lay things out so that everyone can share in Xtrato's and quite frankly all of our high quality themes.
